This is considered the second biggest series event is Malaysia for 1/8 off-road. A total of about 110 participants entered this event from eastern, northern, middle, and southern Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
It is only a 1-day event so everyone had to be very cooperative to finish the race before nightfall. The race format was three heats (7minutes) and a Christmas tree final.
Letâ™s start a bit with Boy Chan Kim Hoi with his XRAY XB9. Boy Chan qualified 3rd and Fabio.K qualified 9th in the A-main final. Chan Kim Hoi had a very unlucky start with few crashes and he ended up last at the beginning. Therefore, Boy Chan had to push very hard in the 1-hour final. Slowly, one-by-one Boy Chan caught up and at the 20 minute mark Boy Chan was in 6th position then around the 40-minute mark has was up to 3rd position. In the last lap, the 2nd place driver from Switzerland (Didier Perrin) was only 1 lap ahead of Boy Chan but he had some technical issue. Boy Chan had a good fueling strategy and he managed to complete his last lap to cross the finish line before the race computer timing ended and fuel ran out just after finishing the race. The champion was Ben Panic from Australia, Boy Chan finished 2nd and Didier Perrin finished 3rd.
